Darci was born on December 12th, 1935.  Darci's father was Verginio Artifon and her mother was Pascoa Ida Colla.  Her paternal grandparents were Angelo Artifon and Luiza Biffe.  She had nine brothers and three sisters, named Argentino, Amantino, Alsino, Angelo, Antenor, Luiz, Nelson, Nelci, Agenor, Idalina, Jurema and Iracema.  She is the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.
