Argentino was born on February 2nd, 1929.  Argentino's father was Verginio Artifon and his mother was Pascoa Ida Colla.  His paternal grandparents were Angelo Artifon and Luiza Biffe.  He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Amantino, Alsino, Angelo, Antenor, Luiz, Nelson, Nelci, Agenor, Idalina, Darci, Jurema and Iracema.  He was the oldest of the thirteen children.
