Mathew was born in 1636 and his baptism took place on August 4th, 1636 in Lodsworth.1   Mathew's father was Mathew Steere and his mother is Joane Lee.  His paternal grandfather was Mathew Steare and his paternal grandmother is Mary Bridger. He had two brothers and six sisters, named John, Nicholas, Joane, Mary, Jane, Mary, Margarett and Elizabeth.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  Mathew is no longer alive.
