William was born in 1865 and his baptism took place on January 15th, 1865 in Wisborough Green, Sussex.1   William's father is James Steer and his mother is Harriet Pullen. He had a brother and a sister, named Esau and Harriet.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 1 in 1866.2
