Richard was born in 1778 and his baptism took place on November 1st, 1778 in Egdean, Sussex.1   Richard's father is John Steer and his mother is Mary Hersee. He had two brothers and five sisters, named David, John, Susanna, Mary, Sarah, Rebecca and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  Richard is no longer alive.
