Martha was born in 1879 in Broadwater.1   Martha's father was William Steer and her mother was Sarah.  Her paternal grandparents are <Unknown> and Emma steer. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Frederick, Frank, Fanny, Emma and Alice.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
