Margeret was born on July 18th, 1860 in Billingshurst and her baptism took place there on September 25th, 1864.1 2  Margeret's father was George Steer and her mother was Charlotte. She had a brother and five sisters, named Albert, S., Mary, Catharine, Susan and Fanny.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
