Margaret was born in 1861 in Billingshurst and her baptism took place there on July 27th, 1862.1 2  Margaret's father was James Steer and her mother was Jane. She had five brothers and four sisters, named J., J., William, Moses, J., N., Rebecca, Harriett and Sarah.
