Catherine was born in 1855 and her baptism took place on August 26th, 1855 in Petworth.1  Catherine's father was George Steer and her mother was Charlotte Lucas.  Her maternal grandparents were Lucas and Sarah. She had two brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named George, James, Sarah, Emily, Charlotte, Fanny and Ellen.  She was the youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 1 in 1856 in Petworth.  Her burial was on June 1st, 1856 in Petworth.2 3
