Beatrice was born in 1891 in Horsham, Sussex.1  Beatrice's father was Moses Steer and her mother was Jane Francis. She had a brother and five sisters, named James, Frances, Emily, Emma, J and Ethel.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
