Annie was born in 1877 in Worsley Lancashire.1   Annie's father was Alfred Walker and her mother was Ann Whittle.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Walker and Hannah Waterhouse. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Walter, Violet, Maria and Edith.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
