James was born in 1774 and his baptism took place on April 7th, 1774 in St Matthew`s Church, Hayfield.1  James' father was Edward Turner and his mother was Leah. He had three brothers and three sisters, named George, Peter, Samuel, Sally, Ann and Leah. He had a foster brother named Edward.
