Margaret was born in 1882 in Penne.1  Margaret's father was Benjamin Shambrook and her mother was Elizabeth Bilson.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Shambrook and Maria Lane. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Walter, Helena and Bertha.  She was the oldest of the five children.
