George was born on October 9th, 1865 in Hoadley, Middlesex.1  George's father was Joseph Shambrook and his mother was Charlotte Distill.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel Shambrook and Maria Lane; his maternal grandparents were James Distill and Ann Beach. He had a brother and three sisters, named Arthur, Rebecca, Ellen and Eliza.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 86 on August 3rd, 1952.
