George's baptism took place on September 14th, 1735 in Silkstone, Yorkshire, England.  George's father was George Senior (of Silkston) and his mother was Ann Longley (of Cawthorne).  His paternal grandparents were John Senior (of Silkston) and Martha Biltcliff. He had a brother and five sisters, named Geo., Martha, Eliz., Ann, Rebekah and Martha. He had a half-brother named George.
