Jane was born in 1853 in Denham and her baptism took place on November 6th, 1853.1   Jane's father was Thomas Kedge and her mother was Charlotte Chandler.  Her paternal grandparents were Anthony Kedge and Amelia Seymour. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, George, John, William, Joseph, Anthony, Maria, Amelia, Harriet and Charlotte.  She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.
