Edward was born on March 15th, 1817 and his baptism took place on April 11th, 1817 in Clapham.1  Edward's father was Edward Horsman and his mother was Elizabeth Doble.  His paternal grandparents were Timothy Horsman and Martha Bright; his maternal grandparents were John Doble and Sarah Follot. He had three brothers and a sister, named Frederick, Robert, Henry and Martha.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died due to a medical problem, Typhoid, at the age of 42 on November 16th, 1859.  He was buried in Crowle, Lincs.2
