Robert was born in 1742 and his baptism took place on May 4th, 1742 in North Creak.1  Robert's father was Jeremiah Holmes and his mother was Alice Welles.  His maternal grandfather is <Unknown> and his maternal grandmother was Mary Welles. He had a brother named Thomas.  He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Jeremiah and Elizabeth.
