Mary's baptism took place on September 5th, 1830 in St Peter Leeds, Yorkshire.1  Mary's father was John Hemingway and her mother was Ellen Marshall.  Her maternal grandparents were John Marshall and Sophia Senier. She had two brothers and five sisters, named William, Isaac, Ellen, Sophia, Rachel, Ann and Elizabeth.
