Job was born in 1834 in Trowbridge.1  Job's father was William Gibson and his mother was Elizabeth Lucas.  His maternal grandparents were William Lucas and Martha Gray. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, George, Hugh, William, Mary, Emma and Anne.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
