Annie was born in 1854 in Stepney Middlesex.1  Annie's father was William Dow and her mother was Ann Adams.  Her paternal grandparents were George Dow and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were George Adams and Charlotte. She had a brother and three sisters, named George, Eliza, Christina and Alice.  She was the oldest of the five children.
