Amund was born on January 22nd, 1759.  Amund's father was Kari Siversdatter Øvreøy (Vågå) and his mother was Peder Lasseson  Nedre Flo.  His paternal grandparents were Syver  Syverson Øvre Øy and Anne Pedersdatter; his maternal grandparents were Lasse Rasmuson Nedre Flo and Malene  Amundsdt. (Glomnes). He had two sisters named Anne and Malene.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Marit.  He died at the age of 64 on September 27th, 1823.
