Susan was born in 1568.  Susan's father was Edward KIRTON and her mother was Letyce (Lettice) Gilbank.  Her paternal grandparents were John KIRTON and Elizabeth Andros. She had eleven brothers and three sisters, named Daniell, Samuel, John, James, William, Edward, Stephen, Josias, Joseph, Virgill, Francis, Elizabethe, Sibble and Alice.  She was the tenth oldest of the fifteen children.
