Frank Eric KERTON (Yealmpton)

Frank was born in 1915. Frank's father was Fredrick KERTON and his mother was KERTON. His paternal grandmother was <Unknown>. He had three brothers and three sisters, named KERTON, KERTON, KERTON, KERTON, KERTON and KERTON.

  My grandfather was Frank Eric Kerton b 1915 approx.one of 7 siblings brought up on a farm Yalpmton (not sure of spelling) Devon. The farm was sold off after the 2nd world war to a dairy. He married Florence Plumb that is the name on her birth certificate but for everything else she was called Dorothy. They had 4 children all still living and residing in and around Plymouth. My great grandfather was Fredrick Kerton b 1890's dad thinks he was one of 13 children. He lived on the farm which he inherited from his father who my dad believes was also called Fredrick Kerton b 1850's. Apparently the farm had been in the family for many generations.
  
  My dad seems to think that his dad managed to trace the family back as far as the 9th century (I'm not really sure about that as the name doesn't seem to be that popular to have been around so long. Hopefully the records of his research have not been lost. According to dad we have a ties with Surrey and Somerset and that the family branched out from the farm and into Inn Keeping and this he thinks goes back to the 1700's
