    However, the Smith MSS, Vol.36, page 102 makes mention of a Chancey Court Suit: "Beecher v. Kyrton" of  1583. "Henry Beecher as Heir at Law of his father Henry Beecher claims  of Henry Kyrton & others (Peter Blockborowe [surely a relative of  Henry Kyrton's wife Dorothy Blackborow], Henry Blackborowe, Mathew
    
    Blackborowe [two more relatives] & John Allen) that by Malpractice  they have got into their hands the Estates of the Manor of Frome Eggford and divers lands in Frome Eggford, co. Somerset."  [I have searched the PRO for a record of this case, but can find nothing; so suspect that it may have had no merit. It seems from the IPM of Richard that the title to the Manor of Frome Eggford was pretty solid.]
