Walter was born in 1878.  Walter's father was William abt 1837 HICKSON and his mother was Elizabeth Dale.  His paternal grandparents were John HICKSON and Elizabeth Jackson. He had three brothers named Samuel, James and William.  He was the youngest of the four children.
