Stephanus Jacobus (Boy) Rootman

Stephanus Jacobus, known as Boy, was born on May 1st, 1873 in Delareyville.¹ Boy's father was Lourens Johannes Rootman and his mother was Isabella Maria Muller. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Marthinus Rootman and Anna Helena Prinsloo. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Marthinus Johannes, Johannes Petrus, Lourens Johannes, Catharina Jacoba, Isabella Maria, Petronella Helena, Aletta Dorothea, Maria Helena Alberta and Anna Magdalena. He died at the age of 62 on April 23rd, 1936 in Ottosdal.¹
