Stjepan was born in 1889 in Zagreb.  Stjepan's father was Eugen Brkić and his mother was Franja Fana Potz (Brkić).  His maternal grandparents were Johann Janko Potz and Ana Karlić. He had a brother and a sister, named Ženko and Zdenka. He had a half-brother named Janko.  He died at the age of 77 on August 1st, 1966.
