William Cain was born on October 29th, 1833 and his baptism took place on November 24th, 1833 in Stisted.1  William Cain's father was John TOBIAS and his mother was Mary Ann PEARCE.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel TOBIAS and Elizabeth WAKEFIELD. He had five brothers and a sister, named Abel James, Seth George, Charles Enos, Robert Enoch, Arthur and Susan.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 35 on June 13th, 1869.  He was buried on June 15th, 1869 in Bright Cemetery, Victoria.2
