Arthur Abel was born on June 11th, 1874 in Bright and his baptism took place on February 16th, 1875 in Bright CofE. Arthur Abel's father was Abel James TOBIAS and his mother was Ellen Jane FAULKNER.  His paternal grandparents were John TOBIAS and Mary Ann PEARCE; his maternal grandparents were William FAULKNER and Ellen Anne SWAN. He had two brothers named Robert James and John William.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had six half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Percy Craufurd, Henry Faulkner, Aurthur Collingwood, John Thomas, Ernest James, Albert Thorald, Georgina Ellen, Florence Agnes, Irene Gladys, Millicent Alice and Lena Emily.  He died at the age of 1 in 1875 in Bright.  He was buried on February 20th, 1875 in Bright Cemetery, Victoria.1
