Joseph Edward was born on July 15th, 1890 in Eaglehawk. Joseph Edward's father was John Henry McCORMICK and his mother was Mary Catherine CASEY.  His paternal grandparents were Edward McCORMICK and Jane DAVISON; his maternal grandparents were Patrick CASEY and Bridget WHELAN. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Daniel, John Patrick, James Louis, Veronica Bridget, Teresa Mary, Jane Agnes and Mary Catherine.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 57 on November 28th, 1947 in Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.1
