Edward was born in 1854. Edward's father was Thomas MORRIS and his mother was Elizabeth WAY.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas MORRIS and Catherine MORGAN; his maternal grandparents were Robert WAY and Susanna LEE. He had four brothers and a sister, named Arthur, Alfred, William, Sidney Way and Rosa Mary.  He was the oldest of the six children.
