Ellen Jane was born on January 3rd, 1855 in Three Mile Creek, Beechworth, Victoria.1  Ellen Jane's father was William FAULKNER and her mother was Ellen Anne SWAN.  Her paternal grandparents were William FAULKNER and Sarah Ann KELLY. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, Andrew Ross, Sarah Ann and Catherine Mary.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 66 on February 1st, 1921 in Malvern.  She was buried in old Springvale Cemetery.
