Darling Downs Gazette (Qld.), Saturday 23 August 1902 - LE BEAU MONDE.
"A very pretty but quiet wedding took place on Wednesday (20-Aug-1902) afternoon in St. Luke's Church, the contracting parties being Mr. George lnwood, youngest son of Mr. Jas. Inwood, of this town, and Miss Nellie Amatt, youngest daughter of Mr. John Amatt, engineer, of Brisbane. The bride, who carried a beautiful shower bouquet, looked charming in a handsome bridal gown of white crepe-de-chine train, strapped skirt, with two graduated circular frills, tucked and strapped with white satin; tucked bodice softly blousing ornamented with bolero fronts of carrichmacross lace and rows of white satin ribbon gathered on. A bertha of same lace to complete, its ends being knotted in front with graceful effect be-tween the edges of bolero front; transparent collar finished with chic chiffon, rosettes and ruffles; tucked bell sleeves edged with lace and ruffs of tucked chiffon; sash of white satin ribbon bowed with long ends at the left side; handsome bridal veil of tulle secured with orange blossoms.
The bride, who was given away by Mr. Chas. Robinson, was attended by Miss Mary Inwood, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Fanny Reeves, who were dressed in costumes of cream cashmere, tucked bodice with sailor-collar ornamented with rosettes of chiffon and rows satin strapping; skirt ornamented with couple of circular frills with creme satin strapping top and bottom, and white silk bodice tucked with lace fichu and skirt of creme cashmere with four small circular frills respectively; hats trimmed with blue chiffon and silk.
After the ceremony the friends of the newly-married couple repaired to the residence of the bridegroom's parents, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of. Some very valuable presents were among the collection, but were too numerous to mention. The bridal costumes were made at the establishment of Miss Stranks, of Bell street, and reflected great credit on that lady's usual first-class work."
