Robert Michael Stewart

Robert was born on July 28th, 1836 in Sydney, NSW and his baptism took place on December 4th, 1836 in St Philips (CofE) Church, Sydney, NSW conducted by William Cowper.¹²

Robert's father was John Stewart and his mother was Lydia Bates. His paternal grandparents were Robert Stewart and Mary Bowman; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Bates and Ann Griffin. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named John, James, William, Nathaniel, Joseph, George, Charles, Mary and Lynda. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 52 in 1888 in Paddington, NSW.³
