Joseph Nathaniel Stewart

Joseph was born on June 28th, 1840 in Sydney, NSW and his baptism took place on July 17th, 1840 in St Philips CofE Church Sydney NSW.¹

- NSW Birth Cert No. V1840143 24A/1840 states that Joseph STEWART was born in 1840. His father was John STEWART and his mother was Lydia STEWART (nee BATES).

Joseph's father was John Stewart and his mother was Lydia Bates. His paternal grandparents were Robert Stewart and Mary Bowman; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Bates and Ann Griffin. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named John, James, William, Robert, Nathaniel, George, Charles, Mary and Lynda. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died at 4 months old on November 6th, 1840 in Sydney, NSW. He was buried on November 27th, 1840 in Devonshire Street (Central) Cemetery, Sydney NSW.¹¹
