George Stewart

George was born on January 7th, 1842 in Sydney, NSW and his baptism took place there on January 29th, 1842.¹ George's father was John Stewart and his mother was Lydia Bates. His paternal grandparents were Robert Stewart and Mary Bowman; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Bates and Ann Griffin. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named John, James, William, Robert, Nathaniel, Joseph, Charles, Mary and Lynda. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He died at just 19 days old on January 26th, 1842 in Paddington, NSW. He was buried on January 27th, 1842 in Devonshire Street (Central) Cemetery, Sydney NSW.¹¹

- NSW Death Cert No. V184218 26B/1842 states that George STEWART, an infant, dies in 1842.
