- NSW Birth Cert No. 10242/1899 states that, in 1899, John W G STACEY was born in the Berrima district of NSW. His father's name was Alfred E STACEY and his mother's name was Elizabeth STACEY (nee DOWLING).

John's father was Alfred Ernest Stacey and his mother was Elizabeth Dowling. His paternal grandparents were John Stacey and Mary Ann Brophy. He had three brothers named Brophy, Joseph and Sydney. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 73 on September 12th, 1972 in Paddington, NSW.²

- NSW Death Cert No. 6028/1972 John William STACEY died in Sydney, NSW. His father's name was Alfred STACEY and his mother's name was Elizabeth STACEY (nee DOWLING).

  "John William George STACEY, known as 'Railway Jack' died on the 12-Sep-1972, aged 74. He had been living in the Paddington area of Sydney at the time of his death. This notice was published in the Sydney Morning Herald dated 13th September, 1972."
