Ferdinand was born in 1874 in Newtown area, Sydney NSW.1  Ferdinand's father was Thomas King Leeder and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth McDonald.  His maternal grandparents were Kosciusko James McDonald and Sarah Anne. He had four brothers and five sisters, named George, Sydney, Thomas, Charles, Flo or Florrie, Lillian, (not named), Jessie and Alma.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 1 on January 6th, 1875 in Church St, St Peters, NSW.  The funeral took place on January 7th, 1875 in Church St, St Peters, NSW and was arranged by C. KINSELA and SONS, George-street..  He was buried on January 7th, 1875 in St Peters Anglican Church Graveyard, Cooks River Road, St Peters, NSW.2 3 4
