Michael (Des) Desmond Healy

Michael (Des) was born on April 15th, 1904. Michael (Des)'s father was Michael Dwyer Healy and his mother was Anne Halberstaedter. His maternal grandparents were Adolf Halberstaedter and Anne Fern or Fearon. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Maurice, John (Jack), Brian, Mary(Mollie), Nancy, Catherine (Kitty), Ursula and Tess or K. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died from cancer at the age of 71 on December 31st, 1975 in Late of Greenwich NSW.¹

      In 1946, as a member of the RAAF, Healy was a member of the War Crimes Tribunals at Moratai and Brunei.
      Healy was appointed a Judge of all District Courts of New South Wales and Chairman of all Quarter Sessions on 19 January 1970. He retired at the age of 70 on 15 September 1974.
