Mary (Polly) Ann Agnes Clayton

Mary, known as Polly, was born on March 9th, 1865 in 713 Bourke Street, Surry Hills, Sydney NSW delivered by Witness - Mrs Dumbrell.¹

Polly's father was George Clayton and her mother was Sarah Bates. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Clayton and Elizabeth Allmon; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Bates and Ann Griffin. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Joseph, Lydia, Anne or Ann, Martha, Sarah, Julia, Georgina and Ada. She was the second youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 28 on January 22nd, 1894 in Taylor Street, Waterloo, NSW. The funeral took place on January 24th, 1894 in Taylor Street, Waterloo, NSW and was arranged by Wood and Company, Undertakers. She was buried on January 24th, 1894 in Waverley Cemetery, NSW.²²
