Alice's father was Joseph Richard Clayton and her mother was Mary Ann(e) Hayes. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Clayton and Elizabeth Allmon. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named Joseph, John, Horatio, Elizabeth, Emily, Julia, Frances, Mary, Ada, Edith and Louisa. She was the sixth youngest of the twelve children. She had a half-brother named Joseph. She died at the age of 74 in April 1937 in 34 Monomeeth Street, Bexley, Sydney NSW. The funeral took place on April 24th, 1937 in 34 Monomeeth Street, Bexley, Sydney NSW and was arranged by J. and C. Hardy, Rockdale and Hurstville.. She was cremated on April 24th, 1937 in Woronora Crematorium, Sutherland, NSW.²²
