Charlotte Hyndes Bates

Charlotte was born on June 6th, 1843 in Sydney NSW and her baptism took place on July 2nd, 1843 in St Philips (CofE) Church, Sydney, NSW.¹ Charlotte's father was William Bates and her mother was Mary Ann Green. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Bates and Ann Griffin; her maternal grandparents were Amaziah John Green and Mary Ann Chapel. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, William, James, Nathaniel, George, Mary, Sarah, Alice, Martha and Maria. She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 67 in 1910 in Balmain, Sydney NSW.¹
