Metta was born on April 10th, 1781 in Rosgaard, Denmark.  Metta's father was Peter Asmussen and her mother was Anna Margaretha Jacobensen. She had four brothers named Nicolaus, Asmus, Peter and Hans.  She was the second youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 38 on January 16th, 1820 in Brarup, Tonder, Denmark.
