Florence was born on August 12th, 1915 in Mount Morgan, Qld.1   Florence's father was Charles George Young and her mother was Elsie Margaret White.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles George Ludwig Jung and Frances Mary Theresa Scott; her maternal grandparents were Robert Patrick White and Jessie Lachlan Cameron. She had two sisters named Jessie and Isabella(Belle).  She was the second oldest of the three children.
