Maurice, known as Ginger, was born on February 10th, 1893 in East Street, Rockhampton, Qld.1  Ginger's father was Michael Dwyer Healy and his mother was Anne (Annie) Halberstaedter.  His paternal grandparents were John Healy and Mary Dwyer; his maternal grandparents were Adolf Halberstaedter and Ann Feran. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Jack, Des, Brian, Molly, Nancy, Kitty, Ursula and Tess or K.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.  He died as a war casualty, Died of wounds, at the age of 22 on April 29th, 1915 in On board the “Derflinger” while on way from Gallipoli to Alexandria.  The funeral took place on April 30th, 1915 in On board the “Derflinger” while on way from Gallipoli to Alexandria.  He was buried on April 30th, 1915 in Buried at sea on Friday afternoon 30th April, 1915.2 2
