John, known as Jack, was born on June 24th, 1895 in East Street, Rockhampton, Qld.1  Jack's father was Michael Dwyer Healy and his mother was Anne (Annie) Halberstaedter.  His paternal grandparents were John Healy and Mary Dwyer; his maternal grandparents were Adolf Halberstaedter and Ann Feran. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Ginger, Des, Brian, Molly, Nancy, Kitty, Ursula and Tess or K.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died as a war casualty, Killed in Action, at the age of 21 on May 2nd, 1917 in On the battlefield at Bullecourt, France.  His body disposition is not known in Bullecourt in France.2
