Leah May Halberstaedter

Leah was born on May 31st, 1870 in Mount Brewer, North Rockhampton, Qld delivered by Archibald Clinton Robertson, Mrs Ferguson.¹

- Qld Birth Cert No. 1870/C002660 - Leah May HALBERSTAEDTER, born at Mt Brewer on 31st May 1870 to Adolf Halberstaedter, age 37 years, from Silesia, Prussia, and Ann (formally Feaorn) Halberstaedter, age 33 years, from Armagh Ireland. Leah's parents had been married on 20th April, 1867 at Rockhampton Qld. Ann, 2 years, was the only previous issue from this marriage indicated on Leah's birth certificate.

Leah's father was Adolf Halberstaedter and her mother was Ann Feran. Her paternal grandparents were Louis (Ludwig) Halberstädter and Johanna Landsberg; her maternal grandparents were Patrick Feran and Catherine Macabie. She had a brother and a sister, named Louis and Annie. She was the youngest of the three children. She had a half-brother named Maurice. She died at the age of 89 on June 24th, 1959 in Rockhampton Qld. The funeral took place in June 1959. She was buried in June 1959 in Yeppon, Central Queensland.²
