Family of William GREENWOOD & Frances (France) Louisa HATTO

William and France were married in a religious ceremony on October 25th, 1920 in Chorlton.

Marriage/Union Notes
- Family lore says that the wedding was postponed three times because of Bill’s work commitments hence daughter Frances being born before the wedding.
  
  France met Bill in around 1917 when he bumped into her in a fish and chip shop causing her to drop the fish she had bought for her mother’s tea. He bought a replacement fish and walked her home; they kept in touch when he went back to WW1. When he first got back from the war he couldn’t find France but he eventually found her.

They had a daughter named Irene.
