Caleb was born on April 20th, 1834 in Kintbury. Caleb's father was William WOOLDRIDGE and his mother was Rachel MARINER. His paternal grandparents were John WOOLDRIDGE and Jane TAYLOR; his maternal grandparents were William MARINER and Mary GOSLING. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, Charles, Stephen, Job, Jacob, Jesse, Isaac, Mary, Jane and Leah. He was the eighth oldest of the twelve children. He died in an accident or as a result of an injury, Head crushed by a cart, at the age of 41 on May 26th, 1875 in Sowerby.
